Libra is a new global currency and financial infrastructure, a crypto-currency backed by major players in technology, finance and non-profit, and a reserve of real assets. Launched by Facebook, the governing neutral Libra Association is based here in Geneva.

30% of the world’s population does not have access to banking. Libra intends to change that using a global digital currency.

This group will discuss and demonstrate technical aspects of the Libra Blockchain, which is open source, and built in Rust. We will also explore how to build applications and smart contracts on the Libra Blockchain, using the Move programming language.

It’s a new technology for everyone, so let’s explore and learn about it together!

An overview of the exciting new Libra technology stack, including the conceptual view, source code itself and the new language Move. We will walk through the example Libra transaction from the official website.
